Outdoor ad growth continues in Australia

Australia’s outdoor advertising industry continues to grow, announcing net revenues of AU$229 million in the second quarter this year, up from $217 million year-on-year, The Australian reported Friday.

In the past year, outdoor ads grew by more than $77 million, reaching $477 million.

“It is heartening to see the industry maintain its steady growth in a tight market. We are very pleased to see continuing strength in the industry with this being its sixth consecutive quarter of growth,” said Charmaine Moldrich, chief executive of the Outdoor Media Association, according to AdNews.

For the year to June, roadside billboards saw revenues of $82 million, other roadside (street furniture, buses, taxis, etc.) reached $85 million, transport (including airports) $33 million and retail $29 million, according to B&T.
