“There are tough decisions coming,” said Chief Executive Rebekah Brooks. The company sent e-mails to staff this week that explained that “costs will need to be cut and savings made in overheads and personnel.”
The Sun, News of the World, Times and Sunday Times are looking to work more closely together to cut down on costs, with Will Lewis, former editor of the Daily Telegraph, leading the effort, according to MediaGuardian.
Last week, it was announced that a single managing editor would oversee the Times and Sunday Times, and another for the Sun and News of the World.
