Liberty Media still looking to finance Barnes & Noble bid

Colorado-based Liberty Media Corp. is offering US$17 a share for 70 percent of Barnes & Noble, the Denver Business Journal reported today.

The two companies are still in talks even though “uncertainty in the debt markets that could make financing the deal difficult has been one factor dragging out negotiations.”

Liberty Media’s offer, made in May, is valued at just over $1 billion.
