Android and Apple iPad iOS are by far the most popular tablet operating systems in use around the world, dominated by a fast-growing Android operating system. Android operating system adoption for tablets has surged from 28 percent to 53 percent penetration from Q1 2011 to Q4 2013, according to GlobalWebIndex. All other operating systems are lagging; however, Windows is seeing a slight resurgence, albeit at a fraction of the top two tablet operating systems.
